Fauna Rescue Of South Australia Ozzie The Red Kangaroo

Ozzie was found at Woomera on Australia Day 2002.
His mother yet another road casualty.
When he was handed in to Fauna Rescue he was 6 months old and just starting to get fur through and weighed only 1.5kg.
Below is a description from his carer.
With a lot of help from caring people we got through the first week of how to look after this baby.
Feeding, toileting and making sure he was always at the right temperature it was so scary. It took about one month for the grey hairs to stop growing!!!!
He is now 9mths old now and weighs over 5 kilos, he has become a real big sook. After each feed he goes outside to the toilet and to munch on the grass. If you dont give him a goodnight cuddle for at least 1/2 hr he will not go to sleep.
Ozzies daily routine now is to lie on the couch wrapped up in my quilt and you can't forget the pillow
watching cartoons. Sounds silly but its true!!
He has put absolute joy and laughter in the house. He has a friend now called Wally also a red kangaroo but that is another story.
